JJ Abrams’ production company, Bad Robot, is said to be possibly working on a number of upcoming DC Comics projects for Warner Bros’ HBO Max, the most notable of which is Justice League: Dark.
More recently there have been futher rumours that Bad Robot could also be working on a solo Zantanna movie! However, it is not confirmed whether this will be theatrical release or a HBO Max exclusive.
Now! It seems that we may see another reboot of fan favourite character, John Constantine!
If Abrams’ Bad Robot is indeed working on Justice League: Dark, it would make sense that they make plans to introduce/re-introduce members of the mystical team.
With the DC Multiverse now established, it does give the production company room to recast Constantine, whilst still retaining Matt Ryan’s popular incarnation on the CW and although there has been some hear-say regarding Keanu Reeves reprising the role from the 2005 movie – if we were to venture a guess – we doubt that this will actually happen given that the vast majority of comic-book adaptations these days stick to their source material – so expect a British Constantine rather than an American incarnation.
Hopefully we will get further news during next months DC Fandome event!
